My Halloween Tree and the Kids

"What do you know about Halloween?"
"Four meddlers come barging into my house, blundering into my business, not even knowing why . . ."
"You are dressed as a skeleton"

My Halloween Tree

"The pumpkins on the Tree were not mere pumpkins. Each had a face sliced into it. Each face was different. Every eye was a stranger eye. Every nose was a weirder nose. Every mouth smiled hideously in some new way".

Our First Home Grown Pumpkin

It just wouldn't get any bigger. It's been that size for over a month. I was pulling a few weeds today after work and I moved the little pumpkin just barely and the stalk fell right off the top like it had just been resting there, so I brought it in and washed it up. Carved a little face for him and hot glued his stalk back on. He has bug bites and scratches, he is definitely happier in the house with us (just look at that smile).

Publix Rocks

Publix (A major southern grocery chain) is selling these terrific cloth shopping bags. The tag on it says its a trick 'r treat bag, but the material is exactly the same as the cloth grocery bags. So I now have a Jack-o-lantern and Frankenstein shopping bag!

Publix is also making us orange colored bread, so we can make pumpkin shaped sandwiches for our shindig!
"Publix Rocks!"

Thank you Publix!

A New Addtion To The "Family"

I received my beautifully hand crafted ceramic jack-o-lantern in the mail from ShellHawk.

He is currently living on a shelf right above my monitor, where he watches over me.

Once we decorate the rest of the house he'll end up out in the front room.
Thanks Shelley

"These are not the pumpkin pots you're looking for. Move along..."

I went back and got a couple little Jack-o-lanterns for myself, and a couple for a little something else that we'll talk about later in September.

From Greg

I got an email tonight with only this picture in it. I thought my mom or my sister had sent me an old picture, because the date on the picture was from 11/09/2006. So I replied back asking if they had carved the pumpkins, and the email came right back because of a bad address. That's when I noticed the email address it had come from was my mom’s old address; she hadn’t had that address in a couple years. So I text messaged my sister to ask about it, and she told me my mom wanted to see it because neither my mom nor my sister had ever sent me a picture of jack-o-lanterns. I forwarded it to her. My sister wrote me back and told me that my mom thinks her boyfriend Greg must have sent it back in 2006, two days before he died. That is so crazy that it would show up in my inbox two and a half years later, from a closed email account. I wish I would have gotten his email way back then so I could have written Greg back about his pumpkins.
We miss you
