We love the retro ads for concessions they play at our local drive-in, The Silver Moon Drive-In. I found videos of the spots they play before the movie and thought I'd share them. This one is our favorite, we recite it along with the announcer.

Countdown to Halloween - October 2nd

For day two of my countdown I present for your enjoyment the original 1983 pilot of the television program Tales From The Darkside, entitled "Trick or Treat".







If it's after 8:10 pm EST, I'm at the Silver Moon Drive In Theatre watching Zombieland and eating nachos!

Witch Mountain

We went to see "Race to Witch Mountain" tonight at the Silver Moon Drive In. We enjoyed it. It isn't a remake as some people are saying; it is its own new story, with new characters. It's nothing fancy, just a good ol' Disney family flick. The story was a touch more involved then the originals, much more action then the first two films for sure. Dwayne Johnson does a good job as Jack Bruno the cab driver that gets stuck helping the kids. If you enjoyed the original you'll like this one for sure. One of the key moments for me, (a movie geek) was the two cameos by Kim Richards and Ike Eisenmann, their characters are named "Tina" and "Sheriff Antony" (originally they were Tia and Tony). I didn't realize it was Kim Richards till after I saw Ike Eisenmann, because he was instantly recognizable. Nice for a family trip to the movies, as well as a nice addition to the trilogy.

Against the advice of locals and police

Against the advice of locals and police, Clay scours the eerie woods surrounding Crystal Lake for his missing sister. But the rotting cabins of an abandoned summer camp are not the only things he finds. Hockey-masked killer Jason Voorhees lies in wait for a chance to use his razor-sharp machete on Clay and the group of college students who have come to the forest to party.

Doesn’t get much simpler than that, I can’t wait till tonight. We’re off to the Silver Moon Drive-In to see a double feature of Gran Torino and Friday the 13th, and for only four bucks each person!
