Old Hag

Here's a little project I forgot to post anything about around Halloween. My sister in-law wanted to be the old hag from Snow White for Halloween but couldn't find a mask. So she asked me if I could come up with something. I thought I had taken some production photos but I couldn't find any. I think it turned out fairly well for my first attempt at a mask and my first time using paper clay (which I really liked). Here's a couple pictures of Sarah in her costume, and one of me trying it out so I could send her a picture of it prior to her seeing it in person.

I used a lone ranger style mask from the craft store as my base. I built it up with cardboard and masking tape, and then used the paper clay to form the features. I went back after it was dry and squirted glue under the clay to make sure it would stay stuck to the cardboard. It worked out well, she wore it to Disney and on Halloween to our party with no issues.

I'm looking forward to trying out more project with paper clay.

It was a wet one! But at least it wasn't snow.

Watch Horror Films, Keep America Strong!

If you grew up in Northern or Central California in the 70's and early 80's you probably already know who Bob Wilkins is, but if you didn't the you should watch the documentary "Watch Horror Films, Keep America Strong!". Bob Wilkins was the host of Creature Features on KTVU out of Oakland and probably a big part of why I love all things horror. I don't mean to sound like a commercial for the documentary its just that Bob Wilkins is a very fond part of my childhood, and a part of Americana that is no longer on mainstream television. I wish we had a Creature Features show here in Florida. If anybody with some pull is listening, Creature Features - Friday or Saturday night, four hours??? It could work.

Lover's Lane of Death

"Even a man who is pure in heart and says his prayers by night, may become a wolf when the wolfbane blooms and the autumn moon is bright."

It's that time again boils and ghouls, time for another edition of George Van Orsdel's Monster Spookshow Radio. Love is in the air, or is that the smell of wet wolf fur? Either way your gonna love this months musical installment of George Van Orsdel's Monster Spookshow Radio. Did I mention that there is a brand new spooktacular edition of George Van Orsdel's Monster Spookshow Radio.

Don't make me tell you again!

It's a Major Award!

"Shucks, I wouldn't know'd that. It looks like a lamp" or err... maybe a weird refrigerator magnet or something.

So I received a couple of blogging awards, one the other day(thanks Chris) and one like a month ago (opps sorry it took me so long to post it Carl, thanks).

I'm not good with following rules, so I'm going to do what I want to do with these awards. I'm only going to pass them along to a handful of bloggers. These bloggers are all frequent visitors to my blog and are the main reason I keep blogging. I enjoy their comments as much as I enjoy their blogs, so I'm giving each of them both awards. A few people who do fall in to this category have already received these awards so the will be omitted from my list.

Carrie Mae @ Creepy Cupcakes - Halloween Things
Diane @ Wouldn't You Like To See Something Strange?
Joseph @ Mr. Macabre's Hallowe'en Cerebrations
PumpkinBrain @ PumpkinBrain
Steve @ Spooky Laboratory

Thank you all for your readership and comments, and thank you for all the great content you share with us via your blogs.

Look what I got in the mail today! A can of limited edition Davis Graveyard energy drink, a Reese's candy bar (not cups, never seen this candy bar before but daddy loves chocolate & peanut butter), and a little tree frog key chain. I love being part of the online Halloween community, its comprised of some of the nicest people I've never met. Thank you Chris

I Found A Huge Frog At Work Today

I was walking down to the dock out at the Royal Pacific Resort to catch a boat back in to City Walk so I could go home for the day, and as I rounded a corner on the very heavily overgrown path this is what I saw . . . . .

So I rescued him from the wilds

Then he went for a ride on a boat. Nice thumb right, I'm a great phone photographer.

Later after I was home and the sun had gone done for the day my friend Captain Amberly sent me a picture of our new mascot getting ready for bed in the dock box.

This post is dedicated to the Frog Queen and who ever it was who abandoned a perfectly good four foot tall frog.
