Hellbilly Deluxe 2 Album Cover Revealed

Advance Screaming

We had a good time, it was hot, not to crowded, but fun. We got to see 5 out of the 8 houses, we both agreed that the Wolfman house was the best as far as theming and scares. We've been to a lot of HHN's and this year was "just OK", I liked a lot of the themes but the whole overall feel was "just OK". We might go back, money is tight this year, I get in free but we have to buy a pass for Jen, so we'll see.

Publix Rocks

Publix (A major southern grocery chain) is selling these terrific cloth shopping bags. The tag on it says its a trick 'r treat bag, but the material is exactly the same as the cloth grocery bags. So I now have a Jack-o-lantern and Frankenstein shopping bag!

Publix is also making us orange colored bread, so we can make pumpkin shaped sandwiches for our shindig!
"Publix Rocks!"

Thank you Publix!
"Where shopping is a pleasure"

Only seven days until the drawing for my giveaway!

The Captain Got Some Cap'n

How bad-ass is Cap'n Crunch?! His hand is flaming and it's shooting out green milk with crunch berry ghosts in it on to a spoon, just because he can! The cereal tastes like regular crunch berry Cap'n Crunch, I haven't tested the milk turning green yet.

The 6 Hour, 1 Hour Vest

Jen and I are teaching ourselves to sew (with a little help from Jen's Mom). This pattern claimed to be a "one hour vest", it took three people, six hours, over the course of two days to complete it. But we are proud of our second completed garment (Jen made me a Christmas apron too). We finally graduated from sewing pillows and dog beds!

Close-up of the material.

We're Going Trick r' Treating!

We are going to go this year for the first time ever to Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween Party at Disney World! That means we get to actually wear costumes, go trick r' treating, and basically act like kids again (in public). Here's my loot bag! I can't wait, it should be a lot of fun, and hopefully a lot of candy!

"Trick r' Treat!"

I Saw Tom Felton Today

I thought I saw Draco Malfoy
I thought I saw Draco Malfoy
I swear
Hey fellas
Draco Malfoy
In a car jam
Yeah I don't believe it
In a car jam
are you positively absolutely?

"Whats up with the sexy Draco Malfoy picture?"

I was at work this afternoon, about to jump on my boat and take off, when I glanced at the people boarding the boat in front of me. I thought "man that guy looks like the kid from Harry Potter". I drove by real slow checking it out, and now I'm like 90% positive it is Malfoy. So I drive out to the Hard Rock and park, they drive by and I am still pretty sure its him. I like the movies but I'm not a super fan or anything, but my sister in law really likes the books and so does one of my friends/supervisor, so I text them that I think I just saw Malfoy and his girlfriend riding on a boat to the Portofino Hotel. Thats when my sup texts back saying that it was Tom Felton, that he has been on property doing press for the upcoming Wizarding World of Harry Potter. He's no Hermione, Ron, or Harry, but it was kind of cool all the same.

Hey Ladies in the Place

I'm callin' out to ya
There never was a city kid truer and bluer
There's more to me than you'll ever know
And I've got more hits than Sadaharu Oh

OH, umm . . . sorry that just happens sometimes.

Anyway Ladies (and Gents too) my wife Jen needs our help to find two items to complete her Halloween costume. The first item she's looking for is a wig similar to the one in the photo. The second item is a nice and spooky choker that will match her costume, and maybe something that could be worn after Halloween too. A handmade choker would be even better if someone knows of somebody on Etsy or wherever that makes antique looking chokers. Thanks in advance for any help or links.

Black, White, and Grainy

Just playing around with different setting on the camera I got for my birthday.

Frankenstein Must Be Destroyed

Man, you got to love Peter Cushing as Baron Frankenstein! I'm to tired to write much, but if you havent seen Frankenstein Must Be Destroyed you should check it out. I'm really enjoying revisiting all the old Hammer films. I love the Hammer versions of Frankenstein because they're more about Baron Frankenstein then the monsters. The sets are incredibly beautiful, with rich colors and interesting objects.

It's All About Participation and Readership

“It's almost time, kids. The clock is ticking. Be in front of your computers for the Horrorthon, followed by the Big Giveaway. Don't miss it. And don't forget to wear your masks. The clock is ticking. It's almost time”.

I’ve been planning my giveaway for a couple months now, and the time is finally here to announce it. I know that most people do giveaways to raise the number of followers they have, but I’m going to conduct mine differently. I want to give some gifts to two of my loyal readers, not just someone who signed up to win a contest they happened upon by accident. I didn't even put contest or giveaway in the title of this post. No becoming a follower to be entered, no posting on your blog about my blog for an entry, and no tweeting!

Here’s the skinny on how it will work.

(1) You must already be one of my followers (sounds like I’m a cult leader).

(2) You must have participated on my blog since July 2nd 2009 (I’ll post a list of who qualifies).

(3) You must post a comment here stating that you would like to be entered and answer the “contest questions”.

(4) Winner will be drawn at random on September 30th after 7:00pm EST (hopefully) from entrants who have answered the “contest questions” correctly, or if no one got them all correct, from those who got most of them right (there not that difficult).

(5) Any other rules that I make up for the fun of it or find that I need in order to be fare will apply. By entering this contest you have no rights as it pertains to this contest or said “prizes” or the right to vote in Transylvania or the Land of Oz. “WHEREAS The management cannot be held responsible for any accidents, incidents, loss of property or life or limb. And WHEREAS For damage caused by lightning, earthquakes, floods, fire, frost or frippery of any sort, kind or condition, consequently the undersigned take responsibility.
WHEREAS During the term of this Agreement you will become and remain, at your sole cost and expense and at our request, a member in good standing of any then properly designated labor unions, guilds, or other organizations, as defined and determined under the applicable law, pertaining persons performing services of the type and the character to be performed here and hereunder. Nothing herein contained shall be deemed to require the violation of any written agreement executed between us and any such labor union, guild or other organization which may be in effect at the time of the execution of this agreement, and wherever there is any conflict between the provisions of this agreement and any other, the latter shall prevail, but in such event, the provisions of this agreement so affected shall be curtailed and limited only to the events necessary to permit compliance with such payment of any additional compensation it shall be at the minimum that is permitted there under.” What just happened?

To be entered the following questions must be answered;
(1) What state does The Captain live in?

(2) Besides Halloween and Horror Movies, what is The Captain obsessed with lately? (It’s in the tags).

(3) What is the name of The Captain’s beautiful bride?

(4) What is The Captain’s livelihood? (His job)

(5) What was the name of The Captain’s haunt for 2008, or at least what was the theme?

(6) What was the name of The Captain’s haunt for 2007? (It’s the very first blog post I ever did.)

(7) What is The Captain’s favorite holiday?

(8) Bats or Ghosts? (No right or wrong answer.)

And finally the most important part, the bloggers who qualify to enter if they wish to do so;

Gonesh

I first heard of the brand Gonesh over at Pumpkinrot's blog "What's Brewing", and then I received some "Spooky Brew" incense from Mr. Macabre over at Mr. Macabre's Hallowe'en Cerebrations and we got hooked on it. We just received our first shipment of Gonesh incense today in the mail. Great company, great customer service, and were loving all the scents we've burned so far.

Candy Corn Dots

Found these at Walgreens. The do sort of taste like candy corn, I enjoyed them.

The Artistic Halloween Queens

The Artistic Halloween Queens are having a blog giveaway! You get up to 3 entries to win. Lots of beautiful hand made and OOAK prizes, that will all soon belong to The Captain. As per usual here at The Captain's Ramblings we feel inclined to remind you that you should not enter because people like you never win things like this. The Captain will let you look at pictures of the goodies after he has won them.

The winners will be announced September 22, the first day of Autumn. If you feel that you must attempt to win this blog giveaway, then go ahead and visit the ladies over at The Artistic Halloween Queens.

New And Improved

Here are some of my zombies that we recently did the repaint on, they were built last year, now with more character and personality. How did I make them you may ask, with a lot of Mountain Dew! That would be why I'm posting these pictures at 3:30 in the morning!

Attention S-Mart Shoppers

Head over to Isle 3, or rather head over to Geof's blog "Enter The Man-Cave" for your chance to win a signed Army of Darkness Ash figure from the Macfarlane Movie Maniac Series 3. He is giving Ash away in honor of his blog's 100th & 101st post. As usual when I post about other peoples giveaways, you should really just stay away from his blog and not even bother entering because I am totally taken Ash with me. You never win stuff like this so don't even waste your time going to "Enter The Man-Cave".

Don't do it!
Don't even bother!
You'll be wasting your time!
