Rob Zombie

So since I was to poor to go see Halloween 2 this weekend, and everyone is talking about Rob Zombie and Halloween 2, I figured I talk about something else Rob Zombie related. Music! That's right boils and ghouls uncle Rob has a new record coming out just in time for Christmas! This will be his fourth solo album since splitting with White Zombie in 1998. It doesn't have a title yet, but according to his guitarist John 5 "it is unbelievable. He says and people say it's his best work. So, I love it." I can't wait to hear it, November 10th is the scheduled release date.

Here's a little video from Rob Zombie, I especially love this video because it has Jim Carrey playing the horror host Dr. Spooky. If I was to have my own horror movie show I would totally have an audience of kids in retro Halloween costumes to clap and cheer for everything silly I did.

And now without further ado . . . . .

Secret Phantasm Project?

So my hopes were up, but now there down, I don't know what to think? Heres the trail of dead crumbs I followed, look for yourselves. I first saw a story about a Phantasm Project on the Horizon? over at ShockTillYouDrop.com which cited horroryearbook.com as the source. After reading the article at horroryearbook I was pretty sure we would be seeing something new of Phantasm, the quote goes something like this;

"We just got word via the webmaster of PhantasmCommunity.com that a new Phantasm project has already been “lensed and is nearly finished.” DustinM, a very reliable source on the franchise, hinted that an announcement about a new Phantasm “episode(s)” is on its way. He said the new project is not Phantasm V, but described it as something “big.”

Just know that something is around the corner, something is coming and that it’s big. Phantasm V, it ain’t, but it’s big.

He also noted that Reggie Bannister himself, hinted about a future Phantasm project at a Monster Mania convention earlier this year."

Sounds promising right? So I followed the dead crumbs further into Morningside and over to the supposed true source at Phantasm Community where I found post after post where DustinM says he did not put that info out. Heres a quote from DustinM;

"I've not had a hand in this beyond my comments on this forum. The photograph has been public for months on Reggie's IMDb filmography and only recently taken down.

When you look at my comments alone, they're not that exciting. Nor are Reggie's from Monster Mania. But when you couple that photograph with them, the whole story becomes explosive. Honestly, I would've preferred that my comments be solely to the members of Community and stayed on the forum."

Hopes dashed!

Dr Evil's Terrors Of the Unknown

Dark Candles

I made my first purchase from Dark Candles recently and I will be a repeat customer. They smell wonderful, I love the Clove, Dark Carnival, and my favorite right now (so far) is the Absinth. I had heard about them from Pumpkinrot's blog, but it was Mr. Macabre who turned me on to them via his wonderful prize pack. If you havent tried out Dark Candles yet, your definitely missing out. And oh yeah, that book is two years younger then me.

A New Addtion To The "Family"

I received my beautifully hand crafted ceramic jack-o-lantern in the mail from ShellHawk.

He is currently living on a shelf right above my monitor, where he watches over me.

Once we decorate the rest of the house he'll end up out in the front room.
Thanks Shelley

Halloween Horror Nights Corrections

So it appears that the Orlando Sentinel either got some bad information or they just got it twisted a little bit. I'm pleased with the misinformation, because there is no Texas Chainsaw Massacre this year! Here are all of the official house and scare-zone names for Halloween Horror Night 2009.

"Tickets Please!"

The schedule

8 Houses

This one should be awesome with a bunch of different movies featured within. I've read that it will have the Phantom of the Opera, Shaun of the Dead, and My Bloody Valentine just to name a few characters.

"MOST EXCELLENT!"

Looks much better without the TCM, stay tuned for more info as it becomes available and pictures from the preview. I love my job!

Themes For Halloween Horror Nights Orlando

"Two houses will be devoted to Dracula and Dr. Frankenstein's monster. Two others are inspired by B movies based on a Midwestern, chainsaw-wielding family and "cannibalistic humanoid underground dwellers," Roddy said. The eighth house will highlight several horror films including Shaun of the Dead and The Phantom of the Opera".

"The scare zones will spotlight corpses reanimated into super-soldiers, a toxic green mist, a chainsaw drill team, an abandoned drive-in theater and half-human, half-beasts. One zone will be devoted to Cirque Du Freak: The Vampire's Assistant, a Universal Pictures film also set to open Oct. 23".

"Two stage shows return: "Bill & Ted's Excellent Halloween Adventure" and " The Rocky Horror Picture Show: A Tribute."

Read the whole article from the Orlando Sentinel

House we already knew...
Saw
Child's Play
The Wolfman

I knew but had not posted...
Dracula
Frankenstein

So #6,7, and 8 are...
Texas Chainsaw Massacre
C.H.U.D.
and a house where each room is probably themed for a different film.

Scare Zones
Super-soldiers Zombies
Toxic green mist
Chainsaw drill team
Abandoned drive-in theater
Half-human, half-beasts
Cirque Du Freak: The Vampire's Assistant

I'm not so excited about some of these, I'm sure it will be fun. I guess I get my hopes up and then they go and bring the freaking "Texas Chainsaw Massacre" back again for the third time. WTF! We were hoping we would get the "Halloween, Michael Myers" house like there are doing at Universal Hollywood!?! I know I sound like a spoiled little kid, but I just hate it when they rehash houses over and over again. People want new houses each year, at least take a year off between rerunning a house. The other houses should be good, I'm looking forward to seeing what they do with the classic monsters. I'm also looking forward to seeing the Abandoned drive-in theater and the Cirque Du Freak scare zones. Less then 28 days till the employee preview!

Open Letter To The Screenlife Company

So I wrote a email/comment/suggestion/nudge in a profitable direction to Screenlife, the company that makes the game "Scene it?" here it is.....

I am really surprised that you don't have a horror movie/scary movie version of Scene it? It would be perfect for Halloween parties and sleep over’s, etc. Halloween is fast building steam as a holiday that people spend money on. According to Susan Ward, About.com “In the U.S. in 2006, consumers spent approximately $4.96 billion on Halloween, a significant increase compared to the $3.29 billion spent on Halloween in 2005. In Canada, Halloween spending accounted for approximately $1.15 billion in sales in 2006”. I know I was looking for a spooky version of Scene it?, I'm sure tons of other people would be interested in it as well. Just a thought. I hope to see this product in the future. I guess for now I'll have to create a horror based trivia game to play at my Halloween party.

Halloween - A Really Sweet Business Opportunity

That's what I wrote, short and sweet. I really can't believe they haven't created a spooky version yet, just seems like such an obvious theme for Scene it? If you'd like to contact them and tell them how you would also enjoy a horror movie version of Scene it? or for any reason really you can do it here.

Moss Harvesters

Repaints Of Last Years Kids

Last year right before Halloween we went on a Disney cruise (whose the brainiac who booked a cruise in October?!?) so my zombies barely got finished and I wasn't happy with their gray paint jobs. So I was going to paint them the beige that I used the first year, until I accidentally learned how to dry brush. These are my kids from last year with a fresh paint job. Now all they need is their character (hair, clothes, dirt, moss, etc.)

^I hate this guy ^ (The only thing good about him is his hand and the bone sticking out of his shoulder.)

Some of the new stuff with a first coat of paint lurking in the back there.

Halloween Candies

I ate a whole box of the bats! They have a mild orange flavor, they're just OK. The box I had was perfectly soft. I haven't tried the ghosts yet, but the box says mixed fruit flavors. Found both of these Dots at Michaels up near the registers, I bet Target has them too.

Ahh you gotta love Pop Rocks! These don't taste like pumpkin, actually I don't think they have any real discernable flavor just sweet carbon dioxide goodness. Found the Pop Rocks at the Dollar General in a 3-pack, but saw them at Michaels too.

I found the "Good & Firey" candy that Pumpkin Rot blogged about a few days back. It was a chemically induced mouthful of spicy fruit flavors. The only real standout flavor for me was the sweet and spicy apple which I could have done with just a box of that flavor.
